Hawaiian Kukui Nut Tops

Picture
Among many historic uses for Kukui nuts, Native Hawaiians would make them into tops by hammering a bamboo stick into the center of a nut.

To play, players stand in a circle on a smooth, flat surface. Hold onto the bamboo stick with the Kukui nut facing the floor, and from 1-2 feet in the air, spin the top using your pointer finger and thumb. The player whose top spins the longest, wins!

The more players the better, as Kukui nut tops will bump into each other and knock out opponents.
